Intermediate Co-Teaching Strategies for Implementing SDI

This intermediate session addresses the critical challenge: How do I practically implement Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) in a co-taught classroom and level up my co-teaching practices? Through knowledge billing sessions and classroom examples, participants will learn four efficient macro processes for embedding SDI into co-taught lessons, using guiding questions to evaluate whether instruction truly qualifies as Specially Designed, and discover strategies to evaluate co-teaching practices for more effective SDI delivery. Participants will leave with five steps to practically implement SDI in a co-taught classroom and level up coaching practices to transform singleton lesson plans into robust co-taught lessons that authentically meet the needs of students with disabilities This session is ideal for all educators ready to refine their co-teaching approach and ensure that SDI is meaningfully integrated into daily instruction.
